Convincing winner of the 2025 Markel/ USEF 7-Year-Old Division, Rosebank VH showed both brilliance and rideability at the Festival of Champions. US Team rider Katie Duerrhammer piloted the striking chestnut to wins in both the 7-Year-Old Preliminary and Final Tests for a combined score of 82.81%. The young stallion earned high scores for all gaits, including a 10 for trot, and rave remarks from two sets of judges.
As Katie describes him, “Rosebank came into my training program in the late summer of his 5yr old year. Right away I struck by his rideability, top quality gaits, presence, and kind eye. Over the past 2 years he continues to amaze me. He finds all the work so easy and is incredibly smart. Rosebank’s gaits are pure and naturally balanced, featuring a very clear walk, powerful trot and a soft, uphill canter. He finds collection and lateral work easy and is lovely in the connection throughout all the work. Rosebank’s character is incredibly intelligent, inquisitive, very funny and he has a big sweet side that he likes to show his favorite people. If I could have five more like him, that would be a dream!”
The trip to Chicago in 2025 wasn't Rosebank VH's first taste of success. In 2021, Rosebank VH did a very good 35-day Danish Warmblood (DVH) stallion test, where he stood out among some of Europe's best 3-year-olds and was rewarded with 836 points. Later that same year he received 52 points at his 3-year-old Swedish Warmblood stallion test, and in the autumn he came second in the 3-year-old championship. In 2022, he was awarded Premium at Danish Warmblood's stallion licensing. He was also ranked the number one stallion in Sweden, having been bred to more mares than any other dressage stallion that year. In addition, he won the Falsterbo 4-Year-Old Championship with an incredible 94% under rider Mia Runesson. In 2023 he started the season by winning his first 5-Year-Old start with a whopping 89% with rider Bettina Jaeger Jensen.
As a five-year-old Rosebank VH was purchased by Kylee Lourie and imported to the US, where Duerrhammer took over the reins. Together they have been very successful with wins both in the Six-Year-Old test and, in 2025, with wins in all seven-year-old classes. Clearly, Rosebank VH -- aka "Ross" -- is a young stallion who can handle a variety of competition environments while keeping focus on his rider and handling stud duties.
Considering his pedigree, Rosebank VH's wonderful rideability is no surprise. His mare line, Stofamilj 31--Elmarinafamiljen, is one of Sweden's top mare families and he descends from eight straight generations of Elite and Diploma mares.
Rosebank VH’s dam, the Elite mare Darling II VH produced double Breeder's Trophy winner and Grand Prix horse Mr Grey VH, Obsession VH who was the highest rated 3-year-old mare in Malmöhus 2019, and Rossese VH (full sister to Rosebank VH) who was awarded a diploma at the 3-year-old test in 2022. Rosebank VH’s damsire Dalwhinnie (De Niro/ Rohdiamant/ Amiral) completed his first Grand Prix test at age nine. Dalwhinnie’s full sister, De La Reinne VH, is dam of the approved stallion Springbank II VH who, among other things, won the Breeders Trophy three times and was in the final of the World Young Horse Championships twice. The granddam, Elite mare Dakarta VH, produced the internationally successful Grand Prix horse Darcia VH (De Niro/ Lemon xx). Under Jeanna Högberg, the mare competed at the World Championships in Normandy 2014.
Rosebank VH's sire, the Grand Prix stallion Revolution (Rocky Lee/ Rouletto) has delivered outstanding results in both breeding and sport. He won the Young Horse World Championship as a 5-year-old and as a 6-year-old he won silver with a score of 9.44. As a 7-year-old, in 2020, Revolution won at Prix St. Georges with over 77%, and with over 84% in the 7-year-old program. Danish Warmblood named him an Elite Stallion as an 8-year-old in 2021. At the Danish Warmblood Young Horse Championship 2022, no fewer than 10 out of a total of 24 finalists were by Revolution. He has no fewer than 14 licensed sons and was named Danish Stallion of the Year for 2025.
